It should be good and I'll probably like it for the same reason I love Fallout, but Oblivion never really interested me for some reason.
Oblivion is a great game. You have obviously not grasped this fact Pic...DEATH TO THE TRAITOR! X-(
I feel I'd be letting everyone down if I didn't respond.

Morrowind is superior to Oblivion. It has 3 times as many NPC's, the area is considerably larger, the game doesn't force you to use doors to enter cities, meaning a constant effect levitation or a super-rare-special-awesome-jump-ability-enhancement will allow you to cross the entirety of the land, the entirety of magic is better, the easter eggs are better for the hardcore, the artifacts are more fun/difficult for the collectors, the enchantment potential is greater for those who like pwnage, and the story characters are actually killable. It means you won't finish the story, but it's a nice touch.

Oblivion is fawned over because, for its time, it was a technical masterpiece. Radiant A.I, fluent conversation between NPC's, a great physics engine and, of course, it was absolutely beautiful. But for the open-ended gameplay where you make the character the way you like, as easy or as difficult you like, which is what I think Elder Scrolls should be, Oblivion is blown out of the water by its predecessor. Having said that, Oblivion's great, it just had an impossibly difficult act to follow.

If you need any final swaying, Oblivion is about £20, sans add-ons, Morrowind can be found for about a fiver as the game of the year addition with both add-ons (£5.50 on play, although I got mine for £3 at gamestation)

And, to make this post relevant, OMFG SKYRIM. In case it's not obvious, I'm hoping for more regression than advancement, but I'll get it regardless <3

I agree with everything you say about Morrowind being better than Oblivion. That is, assuming both games are unmodded. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember you had Oblivion for the 360? Perhaps the greatest thing about the Elder Scrolls series is its potential for mods, and with those Oblivion can be made everything Morrowind was and more. Although equally, that works in reverse - with the right mods you can bring Morrowind up to the graphical standard of Oblivion. I'm not sure about mods to improve the AI, etc., but I'd be surprised if they don't do the same Morrowind Overhaul has already done for graphics.

So ultimately I'd say they're pretty much equal taking mods into account, and I play both a lot.

I have a copy of Morrowind GotY Edition for PC. Basic game works fine but my system doesn't seem to like the add-ons very much as it just plain refuses to work if I've installed either Tribunal or Bloodmoon. Gave me so much hassle I haven't bothered to play it :|

As for Skyrim I plan to have some epic encounters with Dragons :D

Well Skyrim is just looking amazing. Frankly above and beyond what I ever expected. I could marry that game and forever live happily. :x

On the note of Morrowind. I agree with a lot of the things stated but overall I will prefer Oblivion for all of time. Mainly because I always struggled to deal with the slow starting pace of Morrowind. :feenahum: Although a glance over the story of Morrowind shows it to be infinitely more interesting than Oblivion. :^0

Especially since these are the first well done dragons in a very long while. With realistic AI and smooth animation. :x

The only thing I care for in regards to dragons, is something I look forward to seeing with all of Skyrim's beasts, in that they are a law unto themselves. They may attack, they may fly by. If you're fighting one beast, another may interfere and kill it.

Well the gameplay footage demonstrated that that is the case. Dragons can dow what they like based on decision making AI they have. They won't necessarily go and kill everything all the time, there are other things they may do. :D

Well Dragons have plenty of other more important things to attend to rather than messing with silly people.

I surprise myself on this one...not commenting on Skyrim. Well yeah anyway, 130 hours of Skyrim already and am still going. Discovering every little secret. :D
