Today's episode of Would I Lie to You was better than the whole series of That Mitchell And Webb Look so far :/ Some sketches make me wonder if Mitchell and Webb wish they'd made this show. |

I'll admit after watching the most recent episode that it really does look like they've run out of ideas and hopefully it will die here unfortunately I feel the executives may have a different idea :| |

It's certainly not as good as earlier series, but I wouldn't say it was BAD as such. But maybe I'm just subconsciously telling myself I need to have a conflicting opinion :p ... |

Hehe, well if you don't think its bad you can't have watched it. Or maybe you just haven't watched any of the shows out there that prove how bad it really is. Because its not even a case of differences in opinion, its just much worse than it should be. Edited by Tiptup, Aug 10 2010, 09:45 AM.

This weeks episode was alright I guess but it does seem they have genuinely ran out of ideas for classic sketches. The only one that has come close this series was that garnier sketch. |

Get Me Henimore is, for some reason, always funny, even though it's the same sketch each week :P . Probably because each week it gets zanier and zanier. I also quite enjoyed the Quiz Broadcast this week, with Them :D ... |

Erm quite weak this week I thought :| Just not very many laughs I'm afraid and I wasn't really sure what they were getting at with the old Holmes and Watson sketch which was particularly overlong which made it even more painful. Considering this was the closing sketch it was very deflating. Also though I quite liked the Quiz Broadcast as a concept it never really hita funny bone and in some ways was actually quite depressing (which could very well be the point but meh) Overall this was a very disappointing series for what used to be a quite a funny show which I guess was showing signs of slowing down at the end of the last series. Let's hope it ends here so that Mitchell and Webb can put their talents to other things. In one sketch they said Peep Show won't last them forever, but it has certainly beenmore long lasting than this show. I'd give the whole of this series a 4/10. Some good sketches here and there but no real classics and they didn't seem to know when to end their sketchs. |

I think general consensus is that they've lost their magic. There are a few good sketches, but this last episode sort of left me with a sour taste in my mouth. The ending sketch was...I dunno, it wasn't funny, but it wasn't trying to be, and yet it's a comedy program...weird. With the whole Holmes saying "Watson, I know" and then Mrs Hudson coming in and saying he'd pissed and crapped himself, with the show just ending there was just...wrong. Speaking of Sherlock though, THERE was a very good show... |

Funny I thought this episode was more consistent than the others (although still not great). The quiz broadcast could have been quite moving in a The Road style, if it hadn't been so continuously crap the weeks beforehand :/ The Sherlock Holmes one was actually pretty sad, although I don't know quite what the point behind it was meant to be. It can't have just been a dig at the modern adaption of Sherlock, can it? I also don't think they should have tried to end the series on a sad note after referencing the end of Blackadder Goes Forth in the previous episode. Just seemed to highlight how inferior That Mitchell and Webb look is. |

Didn't see much of Sherlock but it was pretty sharp :) I've had a think about it and I do believe that their ideas are still pretty good just not executed very well and a lot of it just felt like filler. Though at least with Would I Lie To You I still get my weekley laugh XD |
