Yeah this has gained quite a bit of attention on the general chat thread and it is hard on Dr Who supporting and entire board so let's see if giving it it's own thread works.

I suppose we can just discuss and post our favourite sketches and say what we think about possibly Britian's funniest current double act :)

I was watching a bunch of sketches on Youtube yesterday for ages. There's so many and they're so funny too. ^_^
It's hard to stop once you start. The only reason I did was because I planned to go out bowling and the time had arrived.

Their sketches tend to be based on very very clever ideas.
My favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5RrGFBbbSY
I mean sure there are some that don't seem to be but every sketch show has duds. However quite often I think they just carry it out wrong, or draw it out too much. That sounds overly critical, so i'll just repeat I do think its brilliant :p But I wouldn't say the funniest comedy duo. Aint like they wrote Peep Show ;)

Equally good sketch shows imo are Harry & Paul and The Armando Iannucci Show :)

My friend was in the studio audience for that sketch :D.

I thought because this was here there might have been a new series, sadly I was wrong :(. Love that show, seen them all, including Situation. Dunno if I necessarily have a favourite though...

@Tiptup Maybe so but I don't think anyone else would work in Peep Show :p So credit given to them there and Super Hans is awork of genius XD

I don't know though they are one of my favourite double acts along with Pegg and Frost (not that they've done much together recently) but they are infinetly better than Horne and Corden who were just embarrassing.

I used to quite like their Sir Digby Chicken Caeser sketch but I guess that has become quite drawn out and stale now :)

I liked this sketch from series 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdhwTXwhA4c&feature=PlayList&p=A7E0D21049A943F3&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=9

I like to think Horne and Corden is an ironic take on sketch shows, and not the abysmal attempt at one that it actually is :p

I getcha about Sir Digby Chicken Caeser, i get the impression they think people are enjoying that one more than they actually are. Another lowlight was one with this green flute that made people tell the truth? That probably harmed me mentally. Cheeseoid is awesome though, no mistake :D

I looked Peep Show up just now and apparently Mitchell and Webb had some smaller input into writing, but it is Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain who are the creators and main writers of the show. Not all credit should go to Mitchell and Webb, although it usually does. The scriptwriting in Peep Show is incredible. It's what made Mitchell and Webb, and not the other way around.

If you like Pegg and Frost then I trust you've watched Spaced, which is a fave of mine. Although technically that was Pegg and Stevenson.

Actually how a thread a topic on sitcoms since we've strayed into that area (well I have strayed into it :P )? Its a subject I seem to have quite a lot to say on...

I can only hope you're right about Horne and Corden :| Because the reality of the situation is something quite grim. Yet it's a 'your mileage may vary' situation as I know people who actually like it :o

I thought Sir Digby Chicken Caeser was hilarious in the first season but by serious 3 the material had been stretched a little thin. Though I liked the one about the green flute if only because of Webb's performance as some mythical elf creature XD There's just something about him in those kind of roles :) And cheeseoid was awesome if a little sad. I also liked the sketch with the enchanted scarecrow :D

I agree they shouldn't get all the credit for Peep Show as they do, but to be fair they are perfect in those roles as Mark and Jeremy :) I love Peep Show, it doesn't make me laugh out loud but it is just so clever that it just makes me smile all the way through an episode. Plus Super Hans + snake + salad spinner = Win.

Spaced is a fav of mine as well and I've been watching it since I was about 10 :D It just never gets old and Brian is one of my most favourite characters EVER! And though it was Pegg and Stevenson who wrote it and I just find Pegg and Frost have great chemistry as seen in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz :D

Yeah I see what you mean.
Hah Tim and Mike in The Robot Wars episode especially :p
But i agree, Brian is definitely my favorite. That actor, Mark Heap is brilliant at making characters his own, especially as Dr Statham in Green Wing.

I just love all the hints throughout the series that Mike may be gay/confused :) and his crush on Tim is quite sweet in a weird sort of way. And the robot wars episode was the first one I saw so that has good memories for me :x

Sorry but when it comes to Spaced the best has to be Tyres and his bipolar style personality ^^

Dudes, I heard on the TipLine (aka the internet) that there's a new series starting July 13th. Shoopdayay.

EDIT: I didn't stop to check if this fact was previously stated, but if it has been then I'm simply ramming it home :) RAM.

Hey. The internet service is one of the trusted things of today's society, why would it lie to me?

Oh and I also read it in a Mitchell and Webb interview in The Times, a lesser source of information. F***ing tabloid junk.
