I realise that this has already kinda been discusses in the topic E3 2010 but it is the kind of big event that I think deserving of it's own topic :) I'll admit that when I saw the trailer I squeed in triumph :p and sat in awe of what I was seeing. Not quite the same impact as in 2004 but still pretty excited. Afterwards I felt initially sceptical about the artstyle and graphics but after looking at it again and reading what Aonuma and Miyamoto had to say I could appreciate the water colour style more and I came to realise it is a beautiful looking game which is still a little rough round the edge but there is time to work on that :) What I'm hoping for is an equally beautiful orchestrated soundtrack. SMG 2 had one there is no reason Zelda shouldn't. Some of the new items and features look cool as well such as the whip and being able to roll bombs. Wii-Motion Plus looks to be in good use as well despite the rather embarrassing demonstration and I'm looking forward to owning Bokoblins with my What intrigues me most though is what the story will be like. It has already been said that the girl in the original concept art is the Skyward Sword who later transforms into the Master Sword which means we may see the origin of the sowrd of evils bane :D This could pose also sorts of interesting challenges to the numerous time line theories out there and hopefully result in numerous flame wars and internet backdrafts which will double the size of the TV Troped entry XD Also timeline theories is something I'm also interested in and I've already been mentally building my own. I don't like the bug item thing. What happens if Link is attacked whilst that thing's flying round? I agree with Howe on the Sheikah and Gerudo. As for timelines, most of the theories seem to have have Ocarina first, as I think it was said once that it's the first game with the timeline splitting after it ends (which I think was confirmed in an interview once), or something, and if this is the game where the Master Sword is born (in name and legend, at least) then it must come before Ocarina and so before every other game in the series. Simple. :p |

That would be interesting in future games though I doubt that will happen in SS :) especially if speculation is true and this is an origin story of sorts and especially if Ganon/Ganondorf don't make an appearance. I live and dream for a game which gives a backstory to the War of Unification briefly mentioned in OoT which could give plenty of focus on the Sheikah and the Gerudo :x Sadly Nintedno seem resilient to making Zelda spin off games apart from Link's Crossbow Training :| A shame as I'd love to play as a Sheikah ninja. @ Takoa I'd actually place Minish Cap first on the timeline as do quite a few others. Due to a few reasons such as the non-mention of Ganon or the Master Sword, the lack of reference to the triforce, the origin of the Four Sword and how Hyrule cam eto be infested with monsters. I read somewhere that the vague plot of this one is that Link lives in like a sky village and then discovers the earth and its full of evil. Or something. That's just what I read. EDIT: Bam

What I don't get about Minish Cap is how Vaati changes so much from then end of that game to the Four Sword games. Plus he needs to get sealed away by the Four Sword somehow by someone too. But I can see what you mean putting it before Ocarina, Picollo. So you'd probably put it before Skyward Sword too, right? But at the same time, there's no mention (unless it's mentioned in SS) of the Four Sword in any of the Master Sword games either. |

Well there is quite a lot of ambiguity to the timeline as nothing official has been confirmed so there are various holes in logic. Though SS could very well be set before MC. If you remember the intro of MC it says how long ago all the Monsters in the land were sealed away by the Picori Blade which were later released by Vaati. This would explain why Hyrule is so infested with monsters in later gamnes of the series. From the story extract TipTup has kindly provided ;) it could be either be generations before the evil was sealed by King Gustav and the Picori Blade or after they were released in MC. Until we see what the surface of SS actually looks like in SS we can't know for sure. As for none of the Master Sword games mentioning about the Four Sword ?:/ It is possible that only the Royal Family of Hyrule knows about it which makes sense as they wouldn't want civilians recklessly releasing Vaati would they ?:/ In fact it was only by some slick manipulation by Ganon that lead to Vaati being released in Four Sword Adventure which could take place before A Link to The Past and sometime when he was sealed which makes sense due to the similarties of the gameworld between ALttP and FSA. Also maybe the fact the Master Sword wasn't mentioned in that game was because it was long lost in the Lost Woods a la ALttP. This is of course all speculation and I'd need to replay the games again to be more solid with my evidence :) Edited by picollo no., Jun 21 2010, 08:46 PM.
