Nintendo are dropping the RRP of the 3DS to Ł155 effective August 11th, just to wind up all those that paid Ł230 for their's, apparently.
However, to sweeten the blow, anyone who visits the 'eShop' gets a ton of free downloads, Sony style.

I agree with Cieran in that the Other Technology board should be renamed General Tech, for the reasons he presented. Also, the "No topic evolution" rule should be rid of, although I think most of the current rules should stay. I mean seriously, who reads the rules before they join a forum? Most would learn them along the way and I'm sure they'd be accepting of them. And come on, it doesn't take a f***ing genius to decipher a starred out expletive. Replacements would appear too childish. The current filter is fine. Not sure whether I agree that the Online Gaming board should be abandoned. On one hand, the "online" game being talked about can be fit into the console's board that it's related to. However, a problems arises here with multi-platform online games, such as, say, Modern Warfare 2. Would an online gaming topic about it go into the PS3 board, the 360 board, or the PC board? The Online Gaming board fixes this problem. This post isn't just aimed at Col just because I quoted him, it's aimed at the admins too.

Also, many people who talk about a specific game will talk about it on their favourite console for playing it, so the topic will go into the forum for that console, and two discussions about online gaming for the same game on different platforms are likely to go different ways in terms of content and discussion because of this. Typically when you talk about a multi-platform game, you're only really interested in your favourite platform. That's why I see no point in the Online Gaming forum. If you're going to talk about a multi-platform game and insist that all platforms are discussed, then put it in General Gaming. If you're going to talk about an online game for a specific console, then put it in that console's forum. The idea of an Online Gaming forum was popular back in the days of the Dreamcast because it was new, but now it isn't and people generally expect online gaming to just be part of the discussion when a topic is opened about a particular game.

Typically when you're looking for that sort of discussion, you wouldn't expect it to be listed under TEchnology. Technology generally refers to computers, gadgets, hardware.

I just didn't want to lose the few topics we did have about other platforms and so kept it until you are happy you've moved all the topics you can from it. Great minds think alike.
