So Super Mario Galaxy 2 is out pretty soon and looks quite sweet, especially with the inclusion of Yoshi this time :D Nintendo seems to have taken everything that was enjoyable and great about SMG and expanded on it, with great new levels and suits :) It has already been praised by the media getting 10/10 by IGN, Gamespot and also Edge Magazine, so it must have something about it. One of my mates has already complained to me about how anyone could possibly rate this higher than Mass Effect, considering it's the same thing Mario has always been doing, and lacks story and action. But the thing is Mario has always been about basic gameplay enjoyment, there is a little bit of story but it only acts as a catalyst to introduce the next amazing spectacle. The only thing is a June release date is quite onconvenient for me as it is a time I have little money and christmas period makes it a perfect present :| But I'm sure with some budget management I'll find a way to afford it :p |

It's released the day after my birthday :p Only thing is, Red Dead Redemption looks just as tempting. But the original SMG was the nicest game I've ever played, so might aswell dust off my Wii and get this. |

It looks like it could be good, but I'll wait a while before deciding to buy it or not. A mate's definitely getting it, so I might just yoink his copy. :p |

It is an usually big title to come out for the summer though ?:/ I suppose it'll be this years SSBB to tide Nintendo over until the Christman period. But SMG2 does look great thiugh, not all sequels have to suck :p As long as it mainatins that fresh appeal to it. |

I just got this yesterday, and I have to admit, it's pretty epic.I was expecting it to be, well the exact same as the original Super Mario Galaxy but they've managed to keep the whole thing fresh. Now the game doesn't feel as "nice" as the original for me, but the gameplay is much better polished.Graphically, it's more or less the same, if my memory of the original is correct.I do hope to god they try something different for the next 3D platforming Mario as it's a very interesting style of gameplay with the planets and gravity ect. but I can't see how they can pull another one out of the bag and keep it fresh and fun. Then again, look what they've done with Pokemon... P.S. Yoshi makes this game 11/10. |
