If there's Cybermen or Darleks this series I'm gonna sh!t a brick and throw it at the television.
...I don't want to tell you that there are Cybermen.
Oh gaaaaaaaaawwwwd why do they keep bringing them back when the newer enemies are always so obviously the better ones. They keep killing all the cybermen and all the darleks forever and then finding them again in more and more annoying 'space-time loophole' bullshit things.

That episode fitted nicely into a theory I came up with a few weeks ago about Amy seeing that woman with an eyepatch. :) Before I thought the Amy currently travelling with the Doctor was perhaps something like a dream the real Amy is having that is somehow brought to life, and the eyepatch woman is someone who is checking on the real Amy, but if she's contolling a doppelganger of herself that's travelling with the Doctor without realising it then that works better. Perhaps she's in a cell of sorts, with that kind of small sliding window.

Thought that was another very good episode as was last weeks. Think this series has been the best one in a while :)

Yeah thought it was really good too, everyone's definitely outdone themselves this series. Shame shame about the mid-season break :|

Yeah, the mid-season break's gonna be annoying. I don't see the point in it.

I think it's because the episodes are being aired around the same time in the US and US series usually always have a mid-season break.

I don't think we should abide by the US rules if it's a UK show. -.-

But co-produced by BBC America I believe. Anyway I suppose any further down this path gets too political :P

Didn't they have a mid season break last time? I think its just because they haven't filmed it all...might be something to do with holding back on filming certain scenes til later to prevent the leak of spoilers maybe. That was an obscene guess, don't take it as fact. But in the US when they have mid season breaks its because they're writing the second half in the knowledge of how its being received by the public.

I know :0 Kinda triggered something in my brain when Amy called her daughter Melody. Don't want to wait for the series to continue later on in the year :|

Why do rivers look like ponds in this forest planet. What a bollux.

Plus there were cybermen so I broke my tv with a brickshit.

To be fair the Cybermen were hardly there as an antagonistic role and linguistics is quite a complex thing so quite possible that if they have no word for pond that river is the closest word that they have for that concept. Sapir-Whorf hypothesis away!!!

Your conceptual scheme is seriously messed if you got salmon swimming upstream in your non flowing pond.

They don't have ponds though. Just the river. So every body of water they know is the river. So all other bodies of water like the sea would be called "river" too probably. A pond would probably be described by them as an unmoving river, and the sea a big river.

Fair enough, didn't know they just have a river. I didn't know who any of those people were. Who were the lizard woman + sidekick, potatoe man and the one who got forced out of the blue man group for his unhealthy lifestyle?

Have to say I can't quite remember them though they seem familiar :| Shall check the Doctor Who Wiki later to see what episodes they may have been in. Have to say the episode was ok but the build up to the reveal could have been done with more punch. The Melody Pond > River Song thing was clever but the delivery seemed a little flat to me, but maybe that was just because I had kinda speculated that Amy's kid was River Song like the rest of the internet had done :p

I didn't like the attempted epicness, but then again I find most Doctor Who finales to be annoying (its still a finale really, isnt it). However this this had some genuinely funny lines in it that stopped me being completely negative. The potatoe man talking to the kid was funny, and I liked that after drawing in a larger US audience the BBC proceeded to mock them with the fat and thin married gay anglican couple. The one of them loosing their head and becoming one of those nazgul headless monks was a weird sideplot that just seemed to disappear though...

Yeah thought a lot more could have been made of the monks as they didn't actually do anything but provide a means for the Dr to make his entrance. They seemed to be there just to act as the threat of the day but I suppose we got another half of the series to to wrap things up and explain things more. Just felt like they tried to cram a few too many things in.
