...I wanna have words with your dealer Shifts

Nintendo are dropping the RRP of the 3DS to £155 effective August 11th, just to wind up all those that paid £230 for their's, apparently.
However, to sweeten the blow, anyone who visits the 'eShop' gets a ton of free downloads, Sony style.

So I'm just wondering what you guys think, it was anounced a while ago byt we've had no real discussion about it.

Are any of you excited about it?

Will you be buying it?

I personally am not particularly looking forward to it. Not because it looks bad but it just seems to lack a certain charm which other games in the series have. I'm not particularly interested in the train mechanic (though it could prove an interesting way to explore Hyrule) and the fact you have to control a Phantom Knight as well seems a little pointless to me. I don't believe that it will make it a bad game and unlike some I actually liked the controls in PH, which this game will probably develop upon but my main concern is the lack of spark, which is my main problem with PH, they seem to focus more on making clever little touch screen puzzles than developing a complete Zelda package.

Though I'll buy it regardless because I love the Zelda series and even though the magic has been exhausted slightly there is always fun to be had. Plus if I die without a complete Zelda collection my life will of just seemed incomplete :p

Though I wait and wish for Nintendo to make another 2D Zelda game of old, just for the warm fuzzy feeling :D

I don't see why so many had issue with the PH controls. They really weren't an issue. The fact that the game was sh!t, however, was. You don't not eat dog sh!t because it's a pain bending down to pick it up, you don't eat it because it's sh!t!

I'll get this probably. I won't buy it, but I'll get it ;). I'll reserve judgement till playtime...

I know this is an old topic but what the hell :)

My mum bought LoZ: Spirit Tracks since she is the Ninty maniac in our house and so far she thinks it is an amazing game and far surpasses PH in many respects. don't ask me how i don't play Zelda games.

It won't save on my M3 by default. :(
And I can't be bothered to find a save file on the net to start me off. Stupid bigger save file. -.-

:O I didn't know you pirated stuff too :p . You need a patched ROM rather than a patched save file. Just Google Xenophobia Spirit Tracks patched ROM or something...

I didn't used to, but I was corrupted by a mate at uni last year by and English patched copy of a Japan only game. :p

And thanks a lot! ^_^ I needed both the patch and a save file in the end, but now it works perfectly! I didn't even know it needed a patch till now. :p

Yeah, without it there are no controls on the train, so it's impossible to play for more than about three minutes into the storyline :p. Quite clever by Nintendo as an anti-piracy measure, but quickly circumvented...

Yeah, I agree. Not sure if the bigger save file size was intentional for that reason, but it also helps to screw up playing it if using some methods. Fortunately there's always some kindly net neighbour to help out. ^_^

From the little I've played of it so far, it's certainly funnier than PH was, so that's at least one improvement. ;)

Am I the on;y person who has actually bought (well recieved) a hard copy of this game  Anyways I've really been enjoying it :) haven't finished it yet, but have finished the fourth dungeon and it is an improvement to PH in almost every way. I also like the way there are actually side quests in this game as well which I have missed greatly :D Was also good seeing Lineback again (well his desendent) as he was about the only enjoyable thing about PH.

I woulda' bought it if I wasn't so sceptical about it, since it is in the same style as PH. I'd still rather they kept the handheld games in the Link's Awakening/Oracles style. :p I do buy DS games despite having my M3. I bought Platinum, Mario and Luigi 3 and Kingdom Hearts: Days yet I already had my M3 when they were released. I buy them now pretty much only if I know I'll like them for sure. I still want the companies to receive some money for games I enjoyed, after all. ;)

I don't like that Link gets dizzy when he rolls too much. I can understand that with the spin attack, as it's a good attack for attacking and defending, but how does obsessive rolling help you anyway?

I thought that odd too ?:/ and it has put me in numerous sticky spots as well because of it. But despite initial thoughts I think the train is actually a rather nifty little game mechanic :) and I've had lots of fun traveling a long taking in the views. The world also feels more lively then it did in PH and even more so than TP to an extent.

Also what is everyone's thoughts on the supposed 2010 release for Zelda Wii ?:/ I suppose they've been given enough time but we haven't even seen a screenshot yet. I just hope that has a more lively world to explore than TP, which despite it's size wasn't really that interesting to explore.

Bought it yesterday, dont like the new way of rolling, much prefer the circling in the corner. First game ive bought for about a year. (Dont have an R4 or anything like that, just havent wanted to get any games). Just got the snow place map, got to some cold place, there was a snow rabbit outside that I caught. Enjoying it so far.

I finished it the other day. I enjoyed it as a whole, much better than PH. One thing I did like in the game was the way they done Zelda, they gave her much more character than any of the other princesses there have been.
