Apollo Justice is the latest installment of the Capcom's Ace Attorney series and the first to be built from the ground up for the DS and as such includes some new touch screen features which will be familiar to those of you who played the secret 5th case on the first Phoenix Wright DS game. I'll come on to those soon. The game places you as new rookie attorney Apollo Justice instead of the hero of the last games Phoenix Wright, but don't worry fans he still plays an important part in the game and you'll come across a few familair faces. The main game mechanics are still the same, you do investigation work to find evidence for cases which you present to court when cross examining witness'. There's a new feature in court which enables you to pick up on nervous ticks witness' do when they're lying but thats about it and as mentioned theres the touch specific feautres which has you dusting for fingerprints and looking for traces of poison but as mentioned they were mostly in the DS exclusive case of the first game so aren't exactly new and they are hardly complex, taking only about a minute to do. So the game is skimpy on new content so the cases themselves better be good right (no bad pun for me) and luckily the game excels at that. The stories and characters are as crazy and witty as they've always been infact the most dissapointing is your rival Klavier Gavin a German rocker/prosecuter who will still pretty cool just lacks that overall witty edge Miles Edgeworth had (Phoenix Wright's main rival in past games) and even lacks the nutty edge von Karma had but he young Klavier does his job I suppose. It's tricky doing a review for this game considering the main aspect of it is its story and going in any detail will likely cause spoilers and I'd prefer for you to play and find them out for yourself but I'll mention the last case ties all the loose ends together nicely. The graphics are like the past games character portraits on static backgrounds but as always with this stories the portarits exhibit a wide amount of amusing animation and they the extra power of the DS has been used to give the characters more detail and there is a noticable improvements on the last game and tehy've even thrown in a bit of FMV (admitedly grainy) for some scenes. The music quality too is a lot better and there will be some of the old catchy tunes from the past games as wello as a few new ones and as always they set the courtroom drama perfectly. This is again another amusing outing for the Ace Attorney sereis but some gamers may find there is a significant lack new to the series to warrant a purchase but for the rest of us and beginners you're bound to enjoy yourself 86% |

The prolem I have with these games is that there's little replay value. Once you've done it you'll remember most of the answers, even if it's been 6 months. Then again, I do only have the first one. |

Well I treat them as I would a good movie or book and go back to them after a while to relive my favourite cases. |

True, but they are still great fun while they last. I enjoyed the game greatly and I'm still waiting for the 3rd one to come out (this was the 4th). |
