...I wanna have words with your dealer Shifts

Nintendo are dropping the RRP of the 3DS to £155 effective August 11th, just to wind up all those that paid £230 for their's, apparently.
However, to sweeten the blow, anyone who visits the 'eShop' gets a ton of free downloads, Sony style.

Star wars Rebel strike: Rogue squadron three
Pilot all the ships of star wars episodes 4,5 and 6 and blast those TIEs out of the skies.

Game title: Star wars Rebel strike: Rogue squadron three
number of Players: 1-2
Price: £20-£15 new, under £10 second hand.
Release: 2005-2006
Console: Gamecube

If you've seen star wars episodes 4,5 and 6, you'll probably have seen all the great battles like, the battle of Endor or the battle of Yavin, and ended up thinking "Wow, I wish I could do that" I mean how many people at some point in their lives grabbed a stick and pretended to be a Jedi or a Sith. Well in the rogue squadron games you can do the next best thing, play those battles and some more too.

Rebel strike foolows the standard format of the rogue squadron games, you usually play as "Rogue leader" who is either Wedge Antillies or Luke Skywalker commanding the fighter pilot squadron, rogue squadron. You get to pilot all the classic ships like X-wings, A-wings and even the millenium falcon through challenging levels with fairly good graphics.

The main missions are up to the usual rogue squadron standard of some being average difficulty and some being stupidly hard. But something else is included, a first for Rogue Squadron games is being able to travel on foot. Though it is a new feature and a fresh idea, the ground levels are pathetic featuring a terrible lock on system and too weak blasters. However the flying moments are still brilliant, going into cockpit view on the missions brings a whole new aspect to the game, you sometimes can even forget that you're in your room. It has less great battles from the film though seeing as in rogue leader: rogue squadron two, most of them where used.

The game also features a cooperative mode, also a first for rogue squadron games, where you play through all the missions in rogue leader: rogue squadron two, but with two players. A versus mode has also been added though it is nothing special and if you want aerial dogfights you're probably better with starfox assult.

Being able to pilot a AT-ST (All terrain scout transport, otherwise known as a chicken walker) is featured as well, it is not completely new as it was available to do so in the other rogue squadron games but only for short periods, not whole missions. Though one of my favourite new features is being able to fly a speeder bike, though it is only featured in two missions (one on Dantooine and when Luke and Leia follow the other speeder bikes in return of the jedi) it is a very good experience swerving in and out of trees, though it is extremely difficult.

In my view it is as good as the other two rogue squadron games and is made no better by the attempts to add something original or new. It has a good replay value as there ar four medals to be earned on every mission (Bronze, Silver, Gold and "Best ever") and is there anything more satisfying than blowing up the death star?

Score: 8.5

One word summary: Challenging
Worth buying: Hell yeah!
