Name: Excite Truck Players: 1-2 Price: Varies Reviewer: The Ross Man I'd start by saying that this game is fast, but that would be under-estimating it. To be correct, I'd have to say "This game is very, very, very fast". In Excite Truck (after completing the annoying tutorial), you start off with a selection of 3 trucks (the first a rubbish all-rounder type truck, the second a slow-ish truck that handles well but isn't very good either and the third one is pretty good and is quite fast) and a selection of four different tracks in four different countries. The goal in each race is not to come first, but to obtain a certain number of stars by the finish line. A good position gets you a bonus in stars and isn't necessary, but can be useful. After completing the races in the firs cup, you will unlock a new cup. There are four cups in Excite mode(easy, and five in Super Excite (hard). To unlock Super Excite an S grade (best grade possible) is needed in each race in Excite mode. That will be tricky. As for multi-player, it will not be available from the start but is worthwhile. It can be a bit annoying that the split-screen puts on player on the right and one on the left (as opposed to one player on top and the other on the bottom), but it's good fun never the less. Sound: 7/10 nothing special, but still OK. Graphics: 9/10 Just brilliant! Re-play value: 7/10 The multi-player adds to this Gameplay: Really innovative, the Wiimote is held and used like a steering wheel. Overall Rating: %91 |
