Okay. Mario Kart Ds is a fun game for young children and teenagers, maybe some adults. First I will begin with Single player. The cups are fun but get harder. Therefore annoying some people. There is also an unlock able cup. I will not name it for spoilers if people do not have this game. Anyway, there is also Mission Mode. The ranks for Missions and Cups go like this : (* = Star) ***, **, *, A, B, C. (There might be lower) In missions if you get at least one star on each, you will unlock another. This might take a while but is fun to do. Some may find it frustrating. Now for multi player. You can play with one to four cartridges. If you use one cartridge then the people who play over DS download will play as Shy Guy. He can only be played in Ds Download play. If you use more than one cartridge, you can chose from any of your unlocked characters and their Karts. There are different modes on Multi player. They are Race and Battle. In Race you can pick from any of your unlocked tracks. In Battle there is two different types. There is Balloon and Shine steal. In Balloon you pop others players balloons and the last one standing wins. In Shine steal, the winner is the one with the most stars at the end of the game. For unlock able characters there are a lot. You can unlock several characters and unlock lots of tracks. You can also unlock everyones Karts for each character. That takes a lot of hard work though. You can also race online against people around the world with Wi-Fi. You can also make an avatar style thing for racing online. It appears on your kart in a certain position as well. Overall I think this is a good game. There are lots of features for everyone who wishes to play, alone or with friends. Presentation 9 Graphics 8 Sound 7 Gameplay 10 Overall Rating 7.5 |
