~ Ok, I've never organised a tourney before, so be patient. If I've forgotten anything, please tell me and I'll do what I can to sort it out :p

~ The tournament will be formatted depending on how many people sign up. It will have a knock-out round, posssibly with a group stage.

~ Sign ups end on January 20th.

~ In order to apply, simply post here, with your friend code and player name.

~ All games are 6 v 6, auto level 100.

~ You do NOT have to keep your team the same throughout the tournament, though of course you can if you want.

~ Standard clauses apply. These clauses are:

Uber clause: No pokemon considered 'uber' are allowed to be used in OU play. Uber lists vary amongst sites, but they generally look something like this:

Wynaut
Wobbuffet

Ho-oh
Groundon
Kyogre
Rayquaza
Deoxys (all forms)
Latios
Latias
Dialga
Palkia
Giratina
Manaphy
Darkrai
Arceus

OHKO Clause: The moves Sheer Cold, Horn Drill, Guillotine and Fissure are banned in competitive play.

Sleep Clause: No more than one pokemon on either team may forcefully be put to sleep at any one time. As soon as they wake up, they can be put to sleep again. Excludes Rest users.

Evasion Clause: Double Team, Minimise and Brightpowder are banned in competitive play.

Luck Clause: The items Lansat Berry, Brightpowder, Focus Band, King's Rock, Quick Claw, Razor Claw, Razor Fang, Scope Lens, Lucky Punch and Stick are banned from Competitive play.

Self-KO clause: If you finish the game and tie it by using Selfdestruct or Explosion, the person who used that move loses.

Freeze clause: No more than one Pokemon may be under the 'Freeze' condition at any one time. Due to the luck based nature of freezing, if more than one freezing does occur, a rematch is in order.

Species clause: You may not use more than one pokemon of the same species in your team, ie you cannot use two Jolteon's, but you would be allowed to use a Jolteon and a Leafeon.

~ Anyone found breaking any of these clauses can expect to be disqualified from the tournament. Disconnecters will not be disqualified, but any disconnections will count as a 6:0 loss, unless the player is not at fault.

~ All matches must be completed in a week, unless there is a valid reason why not. However, if I don't hate you, I might bend this slightly.

~ Obviously, there are prizes. Only first place gets the special prize, supplied by the rather awesome G_R7. The prize is as follows:

Cherish Ball Palcity Mew (Lvl 50, Quirky, UT)
Cherish Ball Palcity Lucario with Metal Coat (Lvl 50, Modest, UT)
Cherish Ball Palcity Manaphy (Lvl 50, Hardy, UT)

~ All competitors will recieve a PBR PKTOPIA Electivire (Adamant, available EV'd with 252Atk, 252Spd, 6Hp or UT) regardless of positioning in the tournament.

~ If you plan to enter, I would rather you signed up sooner rather than later, it makes it easier for me to organise. There's no definitive commitment there if you decide later to duck out.

~ Any questions, feel free to ask in this thread. I may not be able to get on much after the next couple of days though, so please, again, get them out of the way this week if possible.

~ I may or may not compete, depending on whether we get an odd or even number of contestants.

The 24th is the last day of exams for me. :p I have them on the 9th, 11th, 17th, 21st and the 24th.

I was think that 1st place got all 3 of them... :| Nevermind. It just means I'll have to make the time to get 3 people their prizes. ^_^ I don't mind.

Takoa: The format will depend wildly on how many people join. If enough people join, I'll do a groups, then knock out format, similar to the football World Cup. If not, it'll probably just be a straight knock out. Or of course, if it's a really odd number, I'll do something completely different. It might be team-based in some of the earlier rounds too.

I was also contemplating using a points system, where people are rewarded for using less powerful pokes, to get a bit more variety in. Not sure about that though.

The free Electivire will also be available untouched or EV'd, for anyone who's interested.
