Chapter 1 : Charmander
Charmander stumbled through Blackthorn, looking around for a place to rest. He managed to sidle along the cave wall to reach the Dragons' Den. He rested at the entrance, knowing it was safe as no one rarely entered, except from the towns Gym Leader from time to time.
The Charmander was only level 5, and only knew the moves Scratch and Growl. The rest of its' family had either been captured or immigrated to another region of the world. Charmander, from then on, longed to be taken in by someone, without the need of a battle. He required love and company to keep him going.
And then one day, a traveler entered the cave, who Charmander had never seen before. He was quite an old man, and wore a white lab coat. He had grey hair and a curious look on his face, and wore a belt containing Pokéballs. Charmander perked his head up.
"Char- "
And then the old man tossed a Pokéball at Charmander, who was immediately sucked into it. But inside of the ball it was friendly and welcoming, and Charmander lay down to rest again.
'As long as the man is nice, I'm alright' Charmander thought. He closed his eyes and slept.
When he woke up again, he was still inside the Pokéball. He sighed and paced around it. And then he heard a voice.
"Charmander. Come out!"
A white light shone, and Charmander was tossed out of the ball by an invisible force. He landed on his feet in a small lab, beside a desk surrounded by more desks and bookshelves.
"Charmander!" he said.

Chapter 2 : Escape
There were two other Pokémon beside Charmander. A Bulbasaur and a Squirtle. A young boy was beside the Professor, talking in human language, one language that Charmander couldn't make out.
"Hey" the Bulbasaur said in a croaky voice.
Charmander turned to face him. He frowned.
"Hi" he said.
"You're new. You can probably help us." Bulbasaur said.
"Why? What are you going to do?" Charmander asked.
"We're breaking out, we don't like being trapped in here. It's obvious that kid won't pick us. The Professor is trying to get rid of us, and make us face harsh challenges with some stranger."
Charmander thought for a while. All he had ever wanted was company and love. A Trainer would give him just that. A nice Trainer. How could he be sure that this Trainer was nice. He decided not to take chances. Bulbasaur and Squirtle would provide company.
"OK, I'll do it!" he said.
"It looks like the Pokémon are connecting," Professor Oak chuckled. "Now, which one would you like? There's Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulba- Arrrrrggghh!"
The Pokémon were running as fast as they could towards the lab door in order to escape. Bulbasaur released a Vine Whip and the door banged open. A scientist attempted to pursue them, but Squirtle turned and let loose a Water Gun. The scientist fell down, and the Pokémon got away.

Chapter Three:Father-Son Hatred
Mark and Charizard were walking down an empty road in Viridian. The saw the top of the Gym,hoping he hadn't fled.
"Time to finish the b****** once and for all..." Mark announced as he tightened his fists.
Charizard just roared and let loose a flame thrower in the air.Suddenly a figure appeared shouting "Mark!I got your call!".A Blastoise was trailing behind trying to keep up and when the child looked back to see check on it, he ran into a sign post.
"Classic cliché Jerry" Mark said rolling his eyes yet smiling. As Jerry stood up and ran towards him.
"Your fathers not in that gym...He took that Girl you liked to Rocket HQ an-" Mark punched him in the side.
"Not in public!"
"Relax! No ones around.Anyway he said you hung up on him in a phone call.Did you?"
"Ah sh**!I thought he was just bothering me again! We have to go to Pallet. But one thing, Wheres you Blastoise?Wait, wheres Charizard!?" The looked down the street to Charizard try to pull the almost faint Blastoise over...

Chapter 4 : Little Root
Charmander was never a fast runner, and so tired soon. Bulbasaur noticed this, and up to Charmander to stop him falling. Charmander rode on Bulbasaurs' back exhausted, even though they hadn't even left Little Root, but it was all too much for him. Bulbasaurs' plan wasn't going as he expected, so he ran behind a house which was next to a wood, in order to hide. Squirtle soon got the gist of what was going on and followed a little way behind.
"Why are we stopping here?" he asked.
"The newbie is tired, we have to let him rest." Bulbasaur replied.
"We've not even left Little Root, how can he be tired?" Squirtle asked.
"Well, he's obviously not used to running in such conditions. And I mean look at him, he's only level 5." Bulbasaur explained.
Squirtle sighed and sat down against the wall of the house. Bulbasaur had laid Charmander in between two bins so that he was hidden, and then he lay down in some grass and camouflaged himself as a plant. It was still noon, but they all began to sleep, taking heavy breaths so that they were OK for later.
Squirtle and Bulbasaur were both level 9, and had achieved a new Move. Squirtle knew the moves Tackle, Growl and Water Gun. Bulbasaur knew the moves Tackle, String Shot and Vine Whip.

Chapter 5 : Poochyena
It was late afternoon and it had appeared that nobody had found the Pokémon. They were traveling through the woods west of Little Root, in order to escape the clutches of the professor and the young boy. Squirtle found some Pokéblocks scattered across the ground, and picked them up. He carried them until the Pokémon made camp just outside the new town, Cherrygrove. It looked like a calm little place, with some elderly residents, a PokéMart and a PokéCentre. They didn't bother striking some light so as not to be found and caught, so they nestled into seats made of fallen leaves.
"We should actually move through the night," Bulbasaur said in his croaky voice. "No Trainers will be out then."
The other two nodded in agreement, and as the sun fell and the moon rose, the trio got moving.
Cherrygrove was nice and peaceful at night. The moonlight shone down and cast a light to reveal a path up to the next Route. Squirtle had spotted it, and had led the way. As they neared it though, they heard a murmuring of voices. It wasn't human, so the Pokémon exhaled, except from Charmander. He didn't mind Trainers or being captured by one ; it would beat getting away from Squirtle and Bulbasaur anyway.
The murmuring of voices stopped, and Charmander could see green eyes looking in their direction through the darkness.
"It's not safe!" he cried. "It's Poochyena!" he screamed.
He ran off into the trees to the north-east, another way into the Route. He could hear snarling behind him, and ran even faster on his tiny little feet. He had lost sight of Squirtle and Bulbasaur as he made his desperate escape into the woods. Then he heard a cry, and Charmander realised the Poochyena wasn't chasing him any longer.
Stopping, he turned to find his companions pinned down by a fierce looking Poochyena and his thug, and surrounded by others.
"Come little reptile," the fierce one said," Join us!"
Charmander stepped forward and felt a sudden surge of energy. What had happened there? No matter, he thought.
"Please, let my friends go!," he pleaded.
The Poochyena merely laughed ; one even mimicked him.
Charmander couldn't think what to do. He could use Scratch, but that would only injure one and anger the rest. If he had a lot of energy he could challenge them to a 1on1 battle, but that wouldn't happen. But then he had an idea.
It somehow came to him.
He then let loose a burst of fire which engulfed his enemies. They screamed and then ran for it up in the north direction. Charmander had done it. He had saved his friends.

Chapter 6 : Evade
"Just run!" Lucario thought to himself as he ran from an onslaught of pokeballs. Another one came on his right but missed. He kicked one and kept running. He dived into a bush and the trainers ran by. He saw a large flame appear and ran towards it. He dodged branches and a few pachirisu as he charged for the fire.
Once he was at a safe distance, he closed his eyes. He looked around at the aura that the Charmander and his friends were giving off. Charmander's was light blue, Squirtle and Bulbasaur's were a slightly purple blue. Lucario stared at the mass of Poochyena running away, all with red auras. Lucario opened his eyes and stepped over.
"Hello there." Lucario said before realising he was almost double the size of the others. He crouched down and stared around. Charmander drew back and Squirtle stepped forward.
"I'm not that short." He sighed. Lucario stared at the three pokemon.
"Whats going on?" He asked.
"Whats it to ya?" Squirtle asked.

The Leader
Charmander gasped in awe at the newcomer. A mean look on his face, ready for battle, shiny horns on his wrists and one on his chest. His short fur was wonderfully clean, no matter what challenges he had endured. In all of Charmanders' life, he had never seen anything like it before.
"I'm sorry," Lucario said as if offended.
Bulbasaur casually whipped out two vines and directed them at Lucario. Lucario quickly sliced them in pieces with one swift movement. Bulbasaur yelped and jumped back as the vines healed as Charmander fell on his butt. Squirtle merely stood with his arms folded.
"Now you have two things to be sorry about," Squirtle said. "Look what you did to poor Bulbasaur! You've hurt him!"
"I didn't mean harm, but you have already disapproved of my appearance," Lucario said cooly. "Plus, I got rid of those Poochyena."
Squirtle smirked. "As you did." He held out his hand, and Lucario shook it.
Bulbasaur stepped up and waved his newly repaired vines in the air. Charmander began to hiccup, and the others laughed.
"Hic, hic, hic, hic," Charmander hiccuped. And then Charmander suddenly let loose a blast of fire on to the grass nearby. He then began to scream and ran away behind a tree while Squirtle performed Water Gun and extinguished the fire.
"Come on young ones," Lucario said. "It's a long way to Violet City."

Violet City
"Young ones?" Squirtle yelled.
"Sorry.. Sometimes I get very serious." Lucario sighed, rubbing his paw on the back of his head. The group kept moving in the shadows, hiding away from human eyes. Lucario sensed around, the blue aura of the people and pokemon alike shining in the moons light. He opened his red eyes and stared down. The three pokemon had stood behind him, only moving when he did.
"So... Violet City." Lucario mumbled. "Why are we going there?"
"Well, we just feel like it." Bulbasaur said.
"I feel like a nap..." Charmander muttered before Squirtle glared at him.
"Well, lets get moving faster." Lucario said, grabbing all three pokemon in his strong arms. He dashed straight through Cherrygrove city/town and across the route. He sat down next to a small tree before putting the three down and taking a break.
One year ago...
Jade gripped the pokeball tight in her hand, her finger less gloves wet with sweat. She stepped out of the building and into the street. She looked around, no one was there. She quickly ran towards her house and opened the door. She locked it behind her before creeping upstairs.
"Lets hope mum doesn't notice..." Jade mumbled, stashing the pokeball in her school bag.
"Jade!" Jade's mother yelled as she entered. "Today is the day you begin your journey. I got you this..." She handed Jade a new bag and a few pokeballs with a red pokedex. Jade grabbed them and stuffed them into her bag and slowly emptied the contents of her school bag into this bag.
"Let me help." Jade's mother said, taking something from the bag.
"No thanks." Jade said, pulling the bag and sending the contents flying out. She dived for the pokeball but it was too late.
"Whats this?" Jade's mother asked, glaring into Jade's eyes.
"Well... I went to the professor and got this Cyndaquil..." She mumbled.
"Why?"
"Well, I wanted you to be proud of me. You know. Me being independent. I mean, I'm fifteen now."
"I know dear. Look, just get packing and I'll see you off. Make sure you write to me."
"I will." Jade smiled, hugging her mother.

Chris and Aerodactyl
Chris was slapped on the face by the wetness of the wispy clouds. He rode on Aerodactyls' back by the power of Fly, sitting up straight to experience natures' beauty.
"Ok, fly lower Aerodactyl," he called.
Aerodactyl ducked out of the clouds and flew lower down. Chris wiped his face dry with the back of his hand, and then drunk from a bottle of water.
"Woah, Aerodactyl, slow down!," he cried. Aerodactyl heeded his command and reduced his speed.
Chris and Aerodactyl were best friends. Chris met Aerodactyl after he had found the fossil in a cave in Kanto. Scientists had managed to resurrect him and Chris had offered to keep him as his own. He was very powerful.
"We're above Ecruteak, Aerodactyl," Chris called. Just then another Trainer on a Pidgeot bumped into them. Chris panicked and grabbed on tight to Aerodactyl as they spun round together.
"Watch it you d***!," Chris yelled at the Trainer.
The Trainer laughed. "Nah, I'm going at perfect speed. And you just got in my way."
"Ok," Chris said angrily, gaining control of Aerodactyl. "Let's settle this over a Pokémon battle! We'll land in Ecruteak!"
"Fine," the Trainer said calmly. "Pidgeot and I will beat you guys easily."
Chris scowled and ordered Aerodactyl to land in Ecruteak. The other Trainer overtook him and chuckled, which angered Chris. The Trainer looked rather rich in Chris's eyes. They landed outside a tall tower and dismounted.
"Ok," Chris whispered in Aerodactyls' ears. "Just follow my commands as quickly as you can. We'll be able to wipe out this guy no problem that way."
Aerodactyl cawed and stepped forward, stretching his wings. Pidgeot stepped forward also.
"Pidgeot, Wing Attack!"
"Aerodactlyl, Rock Throw!"
Aerodactly was slapped over the head by Pidgeots' wings, and then fought back with a powerful Rock Throw. He tossed multiple rocks at Pidgeots' torso and head, who eventually fell to the ground exhausted.
"Finish him off with Bite, Aerodactlyl!," Chris called.
Aerodactlyl stepped forward smugly and performed Bite on Pidgeot. The battle was over and Chris had won.

The Eevees
Bulbasaur opened one eye and looked around. There was a small curious boy approaching the group with a a Rattata by his side, and a Pokéball in his left hand. Bulbasaur jumped up and placed his feet firmly on the ground. He growled which woke up Squirtle who then joined him.
"Oh, cool!" the boy said, chucking the ball up and catching it. "Rattata, use Tackle!"
The Youngsters' Rattata stepped forward and scowled at his opponents.
"You're going down," it said.
"Back off!" Bulbasaur cried. Although to the Youngster it sounded something like "Bulba!" Bulbasaur released two vines and crushed Rattata with them. Squirtle blasted Rattata with Water Gun and he fell back to its' masters' feet.
"Come on Rattata," the Youngster said soothingly, helping Rattata to its' feet. "Use Quick Attack."
Rattata used Tackle on Squirtle and then Quick Attack on Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur crashed into Squirtle and they both fell down on top of each other. Charmander was awake by now and stepped up, just as the Youngster tossed a Pokéball. It snapped shut as it closed around Charmander, who panicked and frantically banged at the insides of the ball. It was all white inside, no recognizable features except from the red half of the Pokéball. It soon burst open and Charmander let loose an Ember on Rattata who was surprised at Charmanders' escape. Rattata fainted.
"Oh no!" the Youngster said panicked, rushing to the aid of his Rattata. He picked it up in his arms and ran down to Cherrygrove Town and to the PokéCenter.
"Aw, thanks Charmander," Bulbasaur groaned pulling himself up from the ground. Lucario stood up and helped Squirtle to his feet.
"That was a great battle, guys," Lucario said. "I'm glad you managed to get out of the ball, Charmander."
"No thanks to you," Bulbasaur snapped.
"Yes, I know I should have done something...." Lucario drifted off. "I sense something."
Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur looked around them ready for battle.
"Come," Lucario said, and he picked up the three Pokémon in his arms and then ran. He ran through Violet City -"Hey!" said Squirtle" - past the Gym and a number of cityfolk who looked startled as he passed. There was a crossroad leading to either Ecruteak or Goldenrod. Lucario ran left, to Goldernrod, and passed a couple of Trainers and Schoolchildren. They tried following but couldn't match the speed of the Aura Pokémon.
Eventually they made it to Goldenrod. They stood in the centre of the city and gazed at the tall buildings and many people. They decided to explore but then thought quickly against it as there were rumours of Team Rocket around, hoping to catch strong Pokémon.
"I know a way," Squirtle said, and he led the group down to Route 34. A Daycare for trainers' Pokémon was to their left, and patches of grass were to their right. Two figures were approaching them, rather small figures like fellow Pokémon.
"Look," Bulbasaur said to Charmander, and Charmander followed to where Bulbasaur was looking at, and saw two Eevees heading towards them in bright spirits.
Blaze - March 16, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
Caught?
Lucario sighed and poked Bulbasaur.
"I'm going to go find some stuff. Like food and water." Lucario said, bounding off into the city.
Lucario's powerful legs made it a breeze for him to run by people and into a poke mart. He grabbed some food and a few bottles of water before running out of the shop, setting the alarm off behind him. He grabbed a backpack from a stall nearby and threw the things in before slipping it onto his back. He ran into a pokemon centre, ran upstairs and grabbed some pillows before jumping out of an open window. He smiled before running up a tree and sitting down. He stared at many people running around outside looking for him. He used his aura to knock down some apples from the branches and caught them in his bag before running out of the city.
He was running back to the group, who had now started a conversation with the Eevees before being hit by a flamethrower. He fell to his knees before turning his head to face the pokemon trainer and her Quilava.
"Man, egg moves are awesome!" Jade said, before continuing.
"We've gotten much stronger in this past year eh buddy?" The Quilava nodded before launching another flamethrower at Lucario. Lucario flipped and launched an Aura sphere back.
"Feel the power of Aura!" Lucario yelled, firing more Aura spheres.
"Whoa!" Jade said, "It talked! I've got to catch it!" Jade clutched a pokeball and threw it at Lucario. He stared at the incoming pokeball before kicking it back
"Is that all you've got?" Lucario mocked. Quilava growled before charging straight for Lucario.
"Counter!" He yelled, stopping Quilava's tackle and throwing it to the floor.
"Guys! Help!" Lucario yelled to Bulbasaur.

The Legendary Seeker
"You b*****d," the Trainer said.
Chris sat on Aerodactyls' back smugly.
"You shouldn't have bumped into me," Chris said. "Aerodactyl let's go!"
Aerodactyl rose into the air and flew across the Johto region. They traveled over Whirl Islands, Ice Path, Azalea Town, and Lake of Rage. The set down in New Bark Town.
"Come, Aerodactyl, it is disrespectful if you are not in your Ball," Chris said, and Aerodactyl returned to its' PokeBall. Chris entered the PokeLab and strolled up to Professor Elm, who was busy with some computer work. Chris waited at the shelves to be addressed with his hands behind his back. One of Elms' aides brushed past Chris and began conversing with Professor Elm. He was holding paperwork in his hand and kept showing Elm them. He then sighed as Elm returned to his work and squeezed past Chris again.
Chris cleared his throat, and Elm turned round in his seat.
"Erm, hello there. Can I help you?," he said.
"Yes, I'm looking for some information, can I browse through your researches?," Chris asked stepping forward.
"Of course," Elm said.
Chris muttered a 'thanks' and walked up to a table with papers and Pokeballs on it. He scanned through the papers which spoke of legendaries and rare Pokemon, and how they have disappeared and various locations of where they have been sighted. Chris read a paper which stated : The most local Legendaries are the Pokemon ; Suicune : Ice and Water, Raikou : Electricity, Entei : Fire, Ho-oh - Fire and Flying, and Lugia : Dragon and Flying.
"Wow," Chris said. "Tin Tower? I've just been in Ecruteak!" He turned to Professor Elm who was humming to himself. "Professor? I need to use some successful Pokeballs, please."
"Hmm? Oh right, really good Pokeballs. Well," he said, rushing to a drawer. "I do have a set of Ultra Balls, some Master Balls, catch without fail..."
"Catch without fail!" Chris cried. Professor Elm turned his head in surprise.
"Master Ball it is then, my friend," he smiled, and held out a case of Master Balls. "These don't come cheap.|

Sun and Moonlight
Squirtle stepped up and blasted Water Gun at the Quilava. The fire on its' head was extinguished but was soon ignited again, and then Quilava Quick Attacked Squirtle. Squirtle yelled and hid inside his shell as he crashed to the ground, and banged into a fence. Bulbasaur and Charmander scowled at Squirtles frail body and turned to face the Quilava.
"Bulba!"
"Char!"
They jumped forward and tensed their muscles, which were very small. Charmander Tackled Quilava and Bulbasaur followed with a Vine Whip, which caused minimum damage. Quilava used Ember on Bulbasaur and knocked Charmander out of the way. Lucario Countered another Tackle Quilava made, and knocked him to the ground again.
"Come on Quilava," the Trainer said, and unscrewed a bottle lid. "Drink this Potion."
She kneeled down and cradled Quilavas head. She then poured the liquid down her Pokémons' throat. Quilava jumped up and growled at Lucario.
'Oh damn,' he thought. 'The Trainer has a whole rack of Potions, and I'm weakening, I'll never survive. I'll be caught...'
"Ember Quilava!" the Trainer cried. A small breath of fire hit Lucario and knocked him over. He looked around at his fallen companions struggling to pull themselves together and get off the ground. The sun was setting and the sky was coloured red. A Pokéball was being pulled out of the Trainers bag pocket ready to capture the weak Lucario. And then when everything else turned dark, a yellow glow to his right caught his eye and he looked round only to be blinded by the light. He mustered his energy to raise his hand and cover his eyes, but to still see what was going on. He remembered how there were two Eevees that had been there and had disappeared. What was going on?
And then the light faded, which had distracted the Trainer and Quilava. Two Pokémon stood in the fading light sitting casually on the ground. They were in the shape of a cat-like creature, only one had two tails, and one had one sharpish tail.
"Espeon!"
"Umbreon!"
Those voices were heard as the light disappeared.
