Title: Why Not A New 3d Mario Game For Ds?
The Ross Man - December 11, 2007 07:49 PM (GMT)
OK, we've had Mario Kart DS. That's different. I'm talking platformers. Super Mario 64 DS was just a remake. Not much new stuff. There was New Super Mario Bros. which for the first few hours (which you can beat the final boss in) i seems great. Then you realise it was too easy and not much of a game really. Anyway that wasn't 3D.
I think Nintendo should make a 3D Mario Platformer for the DS. SM64DS showed the DS could handle one. Does anyone agree?

But it's not good old classic Mario. Mario was first started as a 2D guy. I'm not saying I don't like the 3D games, it's just not how Mario should be portrayed.

Well theres only been 1 3d mario adventure/platformer game for each console but it totally agree!

That was then, and this is now. ^_^ they showed that trying to remake old mario games sucked when new super mario bros came out. :p

At this point in the DS's life it may be a waste, unless they can make one in 2 years and they plan at the DS to have another 5 years before the new one is made.

Nah, I think Mario should stick to 2D when it comes to portable gaming. Yes, NSMB sucked, hopefully tough they'll make a new 2D Mario that doesn't suck.

well i don't really mind but if they make it 3d they really need to sort out the controls as you can't get anywhere the same precision with a d-pad as you can with an anolouge stick and the touch screen controls on sm64 ds were far too fiddly.
