Description: Gamecentral rumour
shroomer - November 16, 2007 03:10 PM (GMT)
Heres a little titbit thats on Gamecentral today.
According to Evan Wilson (who) ?:/
of Pacific Crest Securities, his contacts suggest a new version of the DS
is finished and awaiting release, should sales start to drop
It's meant to be thinner, with no GBA slot, larger screens and Wii style storage
for downloadable games/software. B-)

That'd be perfect for me!

I heard about this as well. I'll wait to see what it looks like before I comment but I don't like its really needed with how well the DS Lite is doing.

I don't think many will buy it if it has to GBA slot because some people still play GBA games or the pokémon people migrate from their old pokémon games using the dual slot function.
charlote_21 - November 16, 2007 04:23 PM (GMT)
with no gba slot tho games like pokemon diamond and pearl will loose features and if i remember correctly the internet thing contained a card to put in the gba slot so that becomes uses less too :/

I'm getting an R4 for Christmas which I can have an internet browser in, so it doesn't really matter to me, and I never ever use the GBA slot, never have.

Links didn't work.
Edit. I copied them to the tool bar and they worked. Anyone, the first pic is just the one NGC Mag (now dead) made for when the whole thing was first hears about a few years ago and the 2nd pic is the first DS that was made by Nintendo for an E3 but was later not used for the design of the DS that was released.
GarydosRC - November 16, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah the pics look like a step back aesthetically. (as in how cool they look)
Also, what's the use in having memory to store things on the DS if they don't have any features that need it yet. If they added some just for the new model every DS owner who didn't want to buy the new one would go crazy.

That looks like the original look for the ds lite...But they changed it.

Here it is again on DSFanboy
http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/11/15/analyst...ew-ds-hardware/theres got to be somt truth in the rumour
I like the bit were the guy writes, Nintendo has been holding off on releasing this new model until sales drop worldwide. The truth is, they were just waiting for me to get a DS Lite. Seriously, it happens every time. Lol.

It's not possible to have bigger screens on a ds. :| because on one ds it's have one small image, it cant have a bigger image on a bigger screen, its all pixels :|

Game Master - November 16, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
no point nintendo are wasting thier money the lite has sold billions same as the original ds i dont think people would like a newer version because that would just plainly put them off like it would to me.
