Square have released a trailer for it's remake of final fantasy 4 which demostrates proper voice overs in-game. DS rpg's are catching up to console standard presentation and it's about time that developers such as square and namco are using the full potential of the DS :)

Indeed. That trailer is nice. I would not mind playing Final Fantasy IV, yet again.

Personally i never get bored of playing final fantasy games no matter how many ports there are, so im definatly looking forward to this one.

Well, this one is a remake so it might be almost a completely different game with basically the same story. This game does look promising though.

Shamefully, I must admit I haven't finished FF3 yet. xP However, I probably will have it done by the time FF4 comes out.

apparently the original ff4 only included 25% of the original script and this version will include the other 75%, so there will probably totally new elements to the story. though admitedly i won't really know the difference because i haven't played ff4 that much.

Hell yeah! That's gonna be great! ;) I've still not actually finished FF4 Advance because my cartridge has broken and will only accept the temporary save anywhere saves now so I may as well just wait for this to come out instead. I do remember FF4 having a good storyline from playing the Advance version though, so this should be great! ^_^

SWEET! That looks awesome.

I'm already SOLD on the idea so...yeah. That and I'm still hoping FFVI gets a DS Release.

I just picked up the new Phoenix Wright Game today, btw XD

i think they're remaking all games 3-6 on ds so i think it's just a question of waiting a few years for ff6 ds to come out :p .

I am glad it has voice acting. Reading in RPGs is not exactly "fun". Sure, it's the only way to know the story, but when they speak to much and you have to read all that, I tend to not want to play.

it depends how well written the script is.

It depends on the quality of the voice-acting in my opinion. I would rather have good voice acting than read, but I would rather read than have bad voice acting. In any case, I don't like there to be a lot of dialogue all the time, whether it is voice-acted or not.

What console was that on? If it was quite recent (SNES onwards probably) then it's unlikely to be re-made I think. Even if it will be, you'll wait a while, its been a big gap between III and the release of IV (which isn't actually out), then they'll probably do V and then VI, so in that case I'd expect perhaps a 2010/11 release maybe?

Brendan2k5 - October 27, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
FFVI was ported to the GBA last Spring unless I'm mistaken. FFIII DS was later in the year and FFIV will be next year, likely. I can see VI being next since the GBA release of V wasn't as good as IV or VI.
